Everyone and everything can learn. It depends on what one is learning.

I know there are many who cannot get through college, but less than most think.

Anyone who got through high school can get through college.

But ironically, it is the mentally challenged who need to learn the most. In their case learn how to take care of themselves.

And their are specific cases of intellectual deficiencies. In my case languages are very hard for me, and the most famous, and accomplished, of all my friends could not get through a basic statistics course, but he wrote like Hemingway and was as smart as Thoreau. .

All I am saying is learning makes us smarter, and smarter is important to a good life

I am sure we all agree public education K through 12 should be free and mandatory, so why stop there?

Why not four more years, when a person is more mature and can work with abstract ideas better?

In those four years they will double their knowledge and raise their level of thought to the theoretical and abstract . .

And that is good for our society, democracy and humanity.

So you have never met someone who tried to learn but was unable to? Not because of lack of character but they just didn't have the horsepower? Wow.
