I did not see what I mentioned at my university (U of Texas). That is part of the point. The classes did not wait for anyone, but they also don't allow everyone who applied in. There were strong SAT or GRE requirements to get in in the first place. One thing you knew there was that everyone else you met or studied with had to excel at something to be there (even if it was football or golf). Money was less of a barrier, I was always able to get jobs on the campus that got me through without loans.

When you propose opening the school to all then it is much more like community college, which I also attended at some points, and there were a lot of students there because they just didn't know what else to do. They didn't make great role models.
