August is just about over. Up north at ~ 65 degree latitude changes are occurring. Lot of yellow on the birch and aspen, and birds are heading south.

And adult lesser Sandhill Crane, heading south. The distances these big birds migrate over is amazing. Probably already flown a couple hundred miles, stopping in at a respite station, for rest and food. This is an adult, red plumage. Nilkon P1000, probably 250 feet or so away. Programmed auto. f/5.6. 1/250 sec. Iso 400. 1500 focal length. I could not get very close.
