I was in Tokyo once and while walking around I looked up and tried to imagine what it was like to see all those bombers overhead, see the bombs falling, watch everything erupting in flames and trying to survive the firestorm. It was hard to wrap my head around the reality of what it must of been like. I did the same thing once in London, imagining the Nazi bombers attacking London during the Blitz, and it was easier to get a sense of what it must have been like but not in Tokyo. The magnitude of the horror is almost incomprehensible.
