Re: Old Folk Portfolio ... Tax Loss Selling

This portfolio is in the withdrawal phase. $4,000 per month is coming out of the portfolio and those gains are taxable. There was some other capital gains realized as well so I had about $38K in gains that needed to be offset.

There were two funds in this portfolio that have underperformed to the point that most of the capital gains were offset by these two funds, so today I sold:

ASG .. 5044 shares
BST .. 988 shares

I still have positions in both of these funds in the tax deferred accounts.

With the proceeds from the sale of these two funds I added to the high yielding BDC's and ETF's.

ARCC ... 1094 shares
HTGC ... 792 shares
JEPI ..... 283 shares
ORCC .. 1200 shares

The income lost from the two funds sold was $5,889 annually.

The income gained from the new add ons is $5,916 annually.

I have a net gain in income and a tax loss benefit to boot.
