OT ... what do politics have to do with the markets was the question.
Still of no opinion.
But ... this is stunning. Sarah Palin defeated.

Go Mary. I am not affiliated with any political party. I have a lot of good native friends and camerades. Some of course are Yupik. So I cannot help but feel good for them.
I am fond of Alaskan Malemutes, I believe they were bread up by the Inupiaks (related to the Yupik's), oldest indigenous dog in NA. Lovely dogs.
The pipeline act that established the Trans Alaskan Pipeline was one of the first national issues wherein the natives could claim some sort of victory. It is hard to understand if you don't live and mingle, and know all the issues. The Alaskan natives have had to progress through multi years of cultural change in a very small % of what is the norm, for most cultures. A lot of issues, but it brings joy to me to see this, for the natives and continuation of change. Progression.
This is what the US of A is all about. Change, representation, progression and more.
Just a personal opinion and comment. Don Young was a Republican, very well liked and appreciated. He represented everyone and everyone knew this. This made him unbeatable for years and years. Sarah Palin .... well there was perhaps too much of me, myself and I in about everything she did. And maybe this was sensed. Not very humble. I had no issues with Sarah, except maybe she talked too much at times. And those beehive hair does?
