| | | Burma aka Myanmar. That was interesting thank you. I have not previously given Myanmar any significant attention, thinking of it as one of the very many internally squabbling countries that have some weird problem with getting on with life in a pleasant way, for the greater good, near enough for government work, live and let live. Maybe I'll upgrade my attention to aim some VVV analysis at them to see who's doing what to whom and why.
That was horrible to hear from him that there are White Men from not in Myanmar having something to do with promoting something or other there. Imagine it. Men with the dreaded low pigment skin daring to something or other. Merely being white is enough justification to curse them out and load up Myanmar's military men with support of financial, engineering and military output from very good quality Brown Men Made in China who of course should have cart blanche [or perhaps I should change that to carte bruin but that messes up the meaning a bit which is unwritten on white paper - a normal colour for paper albeit a very racist colour for paper, which should be a nice tan colour in keeping with anti-racism - NO MORE WHITE PAPER!].
Dreaded White Men should be banned and excluded, but Lovely Brownies from China should have open slather. Presumably Obama was an honorary Dreaded White Man as Myanmar has been a fighty place for decades as I recall.
Okay, I have gone on a bit, but apart from that, he didn't convince me of much , other than that there is a considerably greater problem there than I had understood and that the source of the problems are probably a lot to do with people in China preferring the goose-stepping military style for Myanmar, while the USA and presumably UK and Eurostan are promoting their democracy style, rather than simply the usual competing belligerent local tribal people self-inflicting their problems and conflicts.
He was certainly correct to point out the local coups and troubles that USA has sponsored over the decades, so I guess he's right that USA is backing local yokels to get Burma aligned with USA and maybe even willing to accept megatons of Made in USA rockets, tanks and stuff right there on China's doorstep = I'm so ignorant, I don't even know the topography between Burma and China. If it's like Mt Everest, it's probably not really a doorstep, but I guess the Himalayas have dwindled by there.
And just today I was considering Thailand as a residence, since they are enticing foreigners to go and live there and bring their money with them. Unlike Burma, Thailand has always seemed a lovely peaceable pleasant place as have been the Thais I've met here. Maybe up close and personal I'd get a different view. Thailand is not far away from Burma and China. How come they aren't getting all fighty and nasty and having China and USA backing competing gangs?
I don't even have an opinion about the Rohingya and them being evicted to Bangladesh. I guess that Burma didn't like Islamic bombing, carnage and jihad just as China decided that the Uighur jihadists were not going to be allowed to promulgate their violent attempts to force Sharia law all over China with the Moslems being the Masters with Mecca the boss of China.
