what if anything do you think of gold. Well, I'm in borderline panic mode at present and for the last few years as the USD and NZD are destroyed by the kleptocratic politicians and reserve bank swindler/diluters, so gold is tempting, as for decades. But I'm thinking that at last the share prices are falling as the Federal Reserve increases interest rates in yet another attempt to keep their vast game going for another huge dilutionary swindle. They really can't afford to let the USD go belly up because that will be game over. To avoid panic they HAVE to raise interest rates even though it causes great political liability and economic Armageddon for mortgagors and others who borrowed and hoped, or just borrowed and wastreled. So while being pummelled the last couple of years, I have grimly hung onto stupid USD hoping that financial gravity and financial relativity theory would do what they must do, but in the process I was totally smashed and destroyed and kicked out at the top of my TSLA short. I seriously considered going another 24 hours but chickened out as the sky was the limit and there were nasty indicators = daily step ups in price as margin calls and panic smashed shorts. If I had gone 24 hours I'd have been laughing as Elon yet again agreed with me that the price was a peak and he sold megatons of TSLA shares and the share price fell from 1200 to 700, now back up to nearly 900 pre split.
So I transferred mega$bucks to Elon - which in a way I don't really mind because he does the things I like to do and had come up with years before he did - for example:
Neuralink .... 20 years ago I wanted subcutaneous voice nerve sensors so moving speaking muscles would provide output. See Earcell [tm] also [Google would find reference] description in SI. Hyperloop .... years before I had described exactly what he proposed as the design though I think flight in the tube rather than his design is better [a detail]. Boring Company .... 20 years before I proposed exactly that design for multiple tunnels under Waitemata Harbour to expand capacity [the harbour bridge wayyyyy congested and has been for many decades] Starlink .... I registered Astralink [same actual name really] in 1996 to do what he's now doing, but I had tried to get Globalstar to do what he's doing. They would not deviate from their suicidal course. Tesla.... back in 1986 I was wanting BP Oil to start angling towards electric car industry, but the time wasn't right, though in the 1990s I thought it was Photovoltaics .... about 1993 my friend laughed at me wanting to cover Australia in photovoltaic panels to desalinate sea water, charge electric cars, get aluminium out of bauxite [BP Solar was in the business but has given up]. Battery swaps = he could do it in 90 seconds, but the problem is their stupid giant batteries. The batteries need to be small and light and cheap - 50 kg or maybe 100kg and swapped in a 7 second pit stop process [by robot]. 50kg is heaps for city cars, autonomous uberized taxis. There are many important benefits with little batteries charged slowly and cheaply and swapped in 7 seconds. PayPal .... I was figuring out how to create Cyberspace money [not US$] before that and at first thought PayPal was doing that - QUALCOMM funded PayPal. I had never heard of Elon at that stage, nor for years later. Probably some other things too. They are all quite logical when one thinks from first principles, based on laws of physics, economics,
Another of my plans [from 31 years ago and then about 1999] was CDNA [cyber DNA - genetic engineering for people, not just for boring things such as getting rid of cystic fibrosis and swarms of DNA defects, but to actually find and sell the "right stuff" DNA for high intelligence/g/cognitive power/creativity [not stupid arty farty creativity but actual conceptual amazingness such as general theories of relativity, quantum computing, CDMA, probabilistic monetary system based on identity, It [aka artificial intelligence], etc. I haven't heard Elon is doing that but maybe he'll get around to it.
I'd much rather do some of those, or any of them, than sit watching a lump of gold hiding in the ground or a vault or in my kitchen. Interestingly, it's kind of a relief to lose mega$bucks because I don't need to figure out what to do with them now, because I haven't got them and Elon has. I prefer him to do something with them than governments etc. I don't buy his multiplanetary species ideas as being worth pursuing yet. Maybe in 50 years. Or 100. Too early for now. Eventually, I agree - gotta avoid the red giant. But first, let's redesign people - it's underway but the process is absurdly slow, done by women using guesswork as they have very little information, dumb luck, and horrible processes of elimination.
