Your're right about the decline of S3 chip usage in DIMD products, but forgot about the 47% of DIMD cards that use 3Dfx Voodoo Chips as represented by Monster, Monster II (shipping 3 March) and the dual Voodoo 2 SLI configuration, MegaMonster. Granted, these are 3D add-in cards requiring host 2D, but their value to DIMD is impressive and far from insignificant.

News from Creative today: They're scheduled to ship their Voodoo 2 cards, one with 12MB (444) and one with 8MB (422) 20 Feb 98. Unless DIMD ramps up with a 12MB offering, sooner, I'd expect this stock to take a minor hit, at which time I'll add to position.

As far as S3 buyout by INTC DIMD AMD NSM etc, I'll believe it when I see that little real-time graph over on Screen 4 start flashing on big block activity and rampage.

Happy trading !
