Wednesday's Picks:

I just finished running charts on 40 stocks from my watch lists, SI threads
and Briefing.ÿ My plays today are:

Long

VANS - limit order at 9 3/4
TMBS - limit order at 15 5/8
OMKT - limit order at 13 1/2
SIDT - limit order at .50

Short

ARTT - limit order at 11
ALTIF - limit order at 14 1/2

If I had more bucks and margin, my long list would have included IPEC under 16, IMSI at 13 1/2 and maybe SMOD and NBTY.ÿ All have nice charts.

On the short side, I tried to short TPRO but E*Trade won't let me.ÿ It had a good run and is due for a pullback.ÿ Others on SI have shorted it, I know.

ORCL has also been getting bad press lately in Barrons.ÿ Probably good for a pullback to the low 20's.

I have discussed TMBS here and on the TMBS thread. I sold at 16 5/8 and want back in one point under that. Then I would play to break 17 if TMBS can gather some new strength. It's worth at least that in value terms.

VANS was a TradeAlert pick which ran away from me yesterday. I think it's good up to 11 or 12 with the new buyers coming in. Competitors have PE's of 15 to 18 (VANS is around 11) and price/sales around 1 (VANS is .66).

OMKT - wish I had been following this. They make serious E-Commerce software which big clients are buying. Smaller loss than predicted last quarter, record revenues and maybe a profit coming soon, or a buyout. Worth a small stake to buy and hold. E-Commerce can only grow, IMHO.

SIDT is a penny play from TradeAlert. Big news yesterday on a new breakthrough and hopefully some room to run. I am looking for .75 or better if it doesn't run away at the start. This is not a value play - just momentum.

ALTIF has been discussed on the ALTIF thread and Roger's Short Picks. It's a magic gizmo company. If there is news that the gizmo works, I would get out in a hurry. I will run a tight stop if I get filled today.

ARTT also had a big run recently but pulled back despite the big market move yesterday. Should recede now that no news on buyouts or spectrum sales has emerged. Momentum players get bored very quickly.

I would welcome comments on any of these.
