Brumar, Right now, Ukraine is beating the pants off Russia and we're not even fighting. What the hell is wrong with that? In the short term, there is nothing wrong with that at the moment.
Zelensky is giving NATO an out. He's the only one who is demonstrating any sort of meaningful leadership. Even with NATO giving him a fraction of what he requested, he is making the very best of limited resources.
I'm saying we shouldn't rely on him, nor should we rely on PooTin either croaking or falling out of a tall building.
Instead we should get ahead of the game. Bring the war to a quicker resolution. Dare PooTin to escalate the conflict, then make him regret it.
I will say this, though. If the only counterattack that is happening right now is Kherson, then my position stands. PooTin won't be fazed by that. Even after Kherson is liberated, Ukraine will then be stuck in the stalemate again.
However, the surprise counterattack in the northeast changes things. That to me is an even bigger fuckin' deal than Kherson. It tells PooTin that he is no longer dictating the course of this war, and that Ukraine is now in charge here.
I think that, more than anything, can speed this war along and force PooTin into a corner.
Then it's up to him to decide whether to sue for peace or fully mobilize RuZZia.
In any case, Zelensky is the master chess player here, not PooTin.
And Zelensky is saying, "Your move, mothafucka."
