RENO, Nev.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 11, 1998--Itronics Inc. (ITRO) announced today that its photobyproduct recycling subsidiary, Itronics Metallurgical, Inc., has completed development of Gold'n Gro 6-0-l0 which is a multi-nutrient product that contains Sulfur, Iron, Manganese, Calcium, Magnesium, and Zinc.
This is Itronics Metallurgical, Inc.'s fourth commercial fertilizer product.
The Gold'n Gro product line uses recycled photographic liquids that have been de-metallized and specially conditioned for fertilizer using proprietary technology developed by Itronics Metallurgical, Inc. during more than 9 years of research and development work.
The de-metallized, specially conditioned photographic liquid is supplemented with Nitrogen, and Potash (N and K) to produce the final formulation.
Important features of Gold'n Gro 6-0-l0 are its high content of multinutrients and chelating agents, including chelated iron, manganese, and zinc. Gold'n Gro Manganese is added to provide a guaranteed iron, manganese, and zinc content.
Gold'n Gro 6-0-10 is to be used for direct application or as a supplement with Nitrogen fertilizer solutions for fertigation application in drip irrigation systems. This product is designed for fertilization of wine grapes, vegetables, and fruit trees including citrus.
Gold'n Gro 6-0-10 will be especially useful in areas of alkaline soils and in areas where hard water is used for irrigation. Alkaline soils and hard water conditions occur widely in Nevada, California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. Test marketing is being initiated in Nevada and California.
Itronics' first product, Gold'n Gro 20-1-7, which was ranked No.1 for two consecutive years in a University of California, Riverside evaluation program, took more than 8 years to develop. Gold'n Gro 6-0-10 took 4 years to develop.
