There is an old British management trick to save money, if the market for the product is weakening.

Appear to be reasonable, and appeal to everyone to work for the "common good".

In private make sure you really piss off a number of senior union officials and otherwise precipitate a strike out of the blue.

Result : Strike. Inventories drop, expenses saved (no wages), and the resolve of the workers tested.

So agreed, all looks wonderful. Unless there is some unhelpful "last-minute intransigence" by the unions.

and it's always handy to blame the commies too.
