I like the design too and have also turned off the new features that make it more mobile friendly because it's still much easier to use a computer for posting purposes here.

A good redesign using responsive web coding could keep both old and new interfaces as the transition is made to the new one. I see it all the time on large sites like eBay and Facebook where they solicit user feedback about the changes when giving an option to go back to the previous design.

That kind of coding requires a lot of time and money.

Yes, but how old are you? I think you're making my #1 point for me here, and I only realized it recently when thinking about the young people I know and how extensively they use their smartphones.
