That's not true. I called the SEC a while back and asked. SI is free and accessible by all and therefore meets public disclosure laws.

Think about it. SI is a lot easier to tap into than a conference call. SI is accessible worldwide. SI allows for immediate dissemination of news, 24 hours a day. SI, being on the web, allows links to SEC filings, the company's website, the company's discussion threads, etc.

Remember:
Regular thread = opinion and discussion
Moderated thread = timely dissemination of facts
