The point is that QCOM has something that no-one else has and every (wireless telephone provider) wants. Namely more powerful and efficient technology enabling more (and better) phones/$ unit of infrastructure. For that there is no current alternative to CDMA. Q management may seem a tad sanguine in response to all the political maneuvering but I suspect that is appropriate, They might as well just keep on working their plan in the knowledge that in the fullness of time the providers will have little or no choice. If they want to play, they'll have to pay!
