I grew up in Glen Ridge NJ and had a view of the Manhattan skyline from my bedroom where I listened to WABC on my transistor radio after everyone else was asleep

When I lived there there were swans on the lake and springs in everyone's basement and that lake is about 100 yards from the beach
The bath and tennis club had a tunnel under Ocean Ave to get to the beach from the club
It was a magical place
but the left coast is my happy place
I love beach towns all up and down any coast :)
