Wall Street has drugged many into thinking that one cannot time the market.

Remember, if you're making money you have to both time the market properly, AND pay taxes on your gains.

That makes it a lot harder.

You got a stock you buy at $100, it goes to $150, and you sell it, lets say you're in a 30% state + federal bracket, you only got $135 of your $150 sale after taxes to invest, If you hold it at $150, it has to drop below $135 before your decision to sell was smart.

The more you're making investing (like, a 5 or 10 bagger) the harder the tax problem is to overcome.
