No, you're wrong. If Ukraine thought they could trust a Russian govt (maybe po maybe not headed by Putin) that'd be their choice, not ours. The converse is true too. The course of the war is up to them. We're simply enabling their fighting. You approach this too emotionally. Ask yourself if Zelensky thought he could negotiate an agreement ending the war would be stop him? Hell no. Ukraine is not our pawn to move around.
