Brumar, there is no consistency coming from the White House when it comes to defending Taiwan:

Biden says US troops would defend Taiwan; White House backtracks remarks (nypost.com)

Brandon says that US troops will defend Taiwan, but then the White House reiterates the "strategic ambiguity" bulls--t.

Is THAT what you consider "strong leadership"? Who the Brandon is in charge, anyway?

Either fight to win, or don't fight at all.

You know why I keep saying that, other than because I like to reiterate themes?

It's because demonstrating strength of conviction is the best way to avoid a fight.

Conversely, the best way to get dragged into a fight, other than to start one yourself, is to show ambivalence.
