Brumar, One doesn't have to choose between challenging Russia to a nuclear war and surrendering to him. What exactly are WE surrendering, Brumar? After all, you said it yourself. WE aren't at war with RuZZia.
If we threw Ukraine under the bus, no big deal. RuZZia would stop threatening the West with nukes. The Z-nationalists will stop talking about nuking Queen Elizabeth's funeral. Germany and the rest of Europe can get the natural gas that they so desperately need, because you know, wInTeR iS cOmInG.
And we can rest assured that PooTin will stop after taking Ukraine, and maybe a few more countries after that.
If Putin nukes Ukraine it will be Putin's fault. Beyond that, no one will care. OK, so you DON'T give a Brandon about Ukraine then.
Because it's all too easy for PooTin to send a nuke right into Kyiv and completely vaporize the Jewish comedian.
Think he won't do that? He most certainly will consider it. Remember, RuZZia has already fired cruise missiles at civilian targets, including power plants, water dams, and even nuclear power plants, all to make up for their military failures.
The only risk for PooTin is bringing NATO into the conflict, but if he feels confident that he can nuke Ukraine without any meaningful backlash, then he WILL.
And just decimating the Black Sea fleet isn't a meaningful response.
If you're not prepared to punish PooTin for nuking Ukraine, then you should throw Ukraine under the bus. NOW. It'll save lives and bring the war to a quicker end.
And yes, I may seem emotional about this, but it infuriates me to see the leader of the free world continuing to lead it from his behind, because quite frankly his risk-averse nonsense is compromising our national security, as well as the security of every free nation in the world.
Sorry if that's too much for you, but we live in a nuclear era now, and we have an ever greater responsibility than ever before to avoid nuclear conflict. We can't dick around with this wishy-washy nonsense anymore.
