Dear Jack:
I was going back through some of the archives and came upon something. In your post to me numbered #390 you quoted Matthew 8:20 "Jesus replied, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head." I have found something that is very interesting and seems to intimate that He may have had another meaning other than the one most literally taken.
John 1: 35-39 Again the next day after John stood, and two of his diciples: and looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God !And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus. Then Jesus turned and saw them following, and saith to them, What seek ye ?
They said unto him, Rabbi, where dwellest thou ? He said unto them, "Come and See. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour.
And wasn't it custom for the oldest son to inherit the home after the death of the patriarch, and by this time Joseph would have been dead.
Now, your help, opinion,knowledge ect.
In a previous post, you stated that when tithes are not given to God, that person is giving the enemy permission to come and take it, and you and I agreed completely. Now, when a person touches the holy tithe, in the OT a 1/5 or 20% penalty was paid or added to it. So my question is , what is the penalty for touching the holy tithe, is it still 20%. In other words, if a person owes God $500.00 and doesn't pay it are you giving the enemy permission to take the $500.00 in your possession and an additional $100.00.
