Wasn't me. I think it was SunTzu. I pointed out that it could drop more than the dividend paid and underperform on the way up.
I did dip a toe in XLYD and RYLD not too long ago and as I feared, they have dropped fast at times. It doesn't seem to be linear though so there might be some smart backroom guys that compute time to dividend pay out vs price of underlying or something. There's been days where the indexes are down big but they barely drop and days where they match or go down more.
Once we hit THE bottom, I'll probably buy some just for the div plus the minor cap gain since I fear we aren't going to recover like bears of the past and might just go sideways in a range for a while. Of course options will be cheaper so I don't know they will be able to keep up the div yield in a cheap call price environment.
Had good day but quit when the drop stalled and we went sideways for a while.
Made a futile attempt to auger post holes for my construction project but the ground is like concrete. Doesn't look like I missed much.
Found a turkey missing it's head and no sign of a struggle/fight. I can't figure out what happened. It's under some power lines but I don't see any scorch marks. I can't imagine something killing it and not eating it unless I interrupted it just as it happened. Weird.
Trannies were up big which almost faked me out until I saw it was rumors of Apollo buying Ryder. XLP & XLU weak again. Rotation selling?
