Compression patterns were first mentioned on SI by convicted former money manager Christian Kis, aka "Velociraptor", about 20-years ago. That's where I picked it up. I'm not really aware of anyone else using them besides me.

The "bull shake" and it's counterpart, the "bear shake", are terms I coined to identify bottoming or topping patterns in stochastics that show underlying strength or weakness, respectively.

The bull shake is kind of a double positive divergence, and the bear shake is a double negative divergence.

I typically see this type of "bull shake" pattern at bear market pivots. I remember seeing them in fall 2018 at both major lows.
