Blowing up the pipeline has alienated Germany and could lead to different ww3 sides and a collapse of NATO. This was not in the interests of the Germans, and they are pissed, both at their government , and at whoever blew up the pipeline. US fleet was in the area, and the Russians blowing their feeding hand up is very unlikely. Not to mention it’s insane to play nuclear Russian roulette. Can we catch all 1000 nukes headed our way?
The Germans have anti-US mood. Not to mention it’s a direct act of war on Putin that can easily cascade into nuclear annihilation.

Ukraine to Russia is like Washington DC to America, it’s birthplace. If Soviet Union won the Cold War, the states split up, then installed a puppet regime in dc that started bulldozing Lincoln statute, pissed on the Declaration of Independence, etc. would we nuke? MAD and the suicidal part of a nuclear attack has kept us alive.
