PCE,
From the end of Feb through end of June, oil prices were sky high on average. This has filtered down into nearly every sector. Looking at inflation or PCE for July and August, of course they're raging hot. Even if oil flattens out for the next six months at relatively high prices, there will still be less inflationary pressures from this one important factor in the mix. Higher interest rates are already doing their job in reducing demand.

Greater than expected is the headline but within what context?
