Ero Copper (ERO-T) has drilled a 16.5-metre interval averaging 1.22 per cent nickel, 0.17 per cent copper and 0.03 per cent cobalt. This is a new discovery in the Curaca Valley of Brazil. Ero is now calling its new nickel system the Umburana project.

The headline hit occurred in the VB area, along with a second hole that produced about half those grades but over double the width. As well, the Lazaro zone produced mineralization on three other holes, including one that averaged 1.02 per cent nickel equivalent over 22.5 metres and another that yielded 1.14 per cent nickel equivalent over 17.7 metres.

Mr. Strang, CEO, deemed the find "a significant and pivotal moment" for Ero Copper. "To think that copper in the Curaca Valley was first documented in the late 1700s and we are just now discovering nickel sulphide mineralization not far from where copper has been mined for over 40 years is truly remarkable," Mr. Strang enthused, reaching a crescendo with his conclusion: "We believe today's results confirm the Curaca Valley's potential to be a globally significant magmatic sulphide district for both copper and nickel."
