This post got me thinking about other comments along the lines of "we can't be the worlds policeman".

The reality is we are. Everyday the American Navy is in every ocean of the world, protecting the sea lanes, protecting foreign invasions, deterring aggression and generally standing watch over those who would do evil to the innocent.

I think you are right. We should stop doing that. We should just let New Zealand take care of New Zealand, Europe take care of Europe, Africa take care of Africa and so forth. Bring every troop home, from every vessel, every base, every plane and every foreign training engagement designed to help keep the peace.

Then we can just build our own Atlantis free from the evil nonsense in the rest of the world. We don't need pay for citizenship systems, eventually we'll invent a form of invisibility before anyone else and they won't even know we have come and gone during our vacation.

When China, Russia or some other dictator tries to enslave a weaker nations in the world, we'll just say a prayer for them and wish them best of luck.

Let's call it the "no police" foreign policy doctrine.
