The UN has a rule of self determination, the regions can vote to break apart. What is unlawful here if the Russian speaking regions voted to leave Ukraine and join Russia? There was no annexation. These people were murdered for 8 years, what Zelensky did genocide (kill them off to take the land is the definition of genocide), so why is their decision unlawful? Or, why is it Putin’s decision? UN human rights guarantee the right of self determination. If Kosovo can split, so can Russian regions of Ukraine. Their 90%+ vote is understandable, they wanted to leave Ukraine to get protection from its forces. Kind of like Zelensky quick nato bid is also understandable. Right now he has 3-4:1 numbers advantage, but this is about to end. I am pretty sure Russia will kick his ass.
