Germany reinstates some masking requirements ( Deutsche Welle)

Germany has introduced some new pandemic rules in response to rising cases and the upcoming winter. Starting this past weekend, passengers over 14 on long-distance trains have to wear the equivalent of an N95 mask, while those on local buses or trains have to wear at least surgical masks. As of the weekend, cases were double what they had been the week prior. If this trend continues, states are allowed to require masks in indoor spaces and make testing mandatory at schools and daycares.

Cases rise in the UK, putting pressure on a strained healthcare system ( The Guardian)

Covid-related hospitalizations in the UK have risen nearly 37 percent in the past week, further stretching hospitals across the country that are already under-resourced. Research recently showed that one in nine nurses are leaving their NHS jobs, a record number. Experts are calling on officials to bolster the health care system, especially given the possibility of a flu and Covid “twindemic.”

Now that you're in an urban environment.. protect yourself.
