I hear you, but my guess is there are 100s of variables that need to be analyzed before conclusions can be drawn. It isn't rocket science, but it does need to be done. Over time, it will be. The original study on UV-B and the 1918 pandemic, IIRC, occurred sometime after 1930. Hopefully, it won't take THAT long.
I would hesitate to make assumptions about it. You know, complex systems often produce results that are misleading to the eye. Someone will eventually do the math.
The one thing that is pretty clear to me is that the behavior of the Left caused a lot of deaths. It is tragic.

This guy is basically a teacher, and his knowledge is, to me astonishing. One of the early studies finding HCQ to be effective was authored and released early -- around March, 2020 -- by renowned Prof. Didier Raoult in France, concluded that:
“The HCQ-AZ combination, when started immediately after diagnosis, is a safe and efficient treatment for COVID-19, with a mortality rate of 0.5%, in elderly patients. It avoids worsening and clears virus persistence and contagiosity in most cases.” (n=1061) Dr. Mobeen obviously found this worthy of discussion, and over a period of days described in detail the treatment regime, why it only worked if the regime is started within the first few days, how the combination of HCQ, antibiotics, an supplementation with vitamins, zinc, etc., acts on the system to resolve the problem the body's own defenses, before the viral load becomes overwhelming and kills the patient.
Anyway, Dr. Mobeen spent an hour or two on this, and Youtube banned him. Mobeen explained to Youtube that this was his living, he is an educator, etc., but in the end Youtube said, "You take down every reference to HCQ and make sure it is never mentioned again on your channel and we'll turn it back on."
Subsequently, Mobeen - when someone tried to raise the topic, would refer to it as that "Word we cannot discuss". Amateur writers in NYT and WaPo as well as cable news were criticizing Trump's "amateur" remarks about HCQ in newspapers and on TV. The world went crazy. Soon thereafter, Dr. Zelenko, now deceased, produced preliminary data with about 2,000 patients he treated that backed up the Raoult study, enhanced with Zinc, Antibiotics, Vit D, all given immediately on the development of symptoms or known exposure.
The story goes on. State governments ACTUALLY ALLOWED PHARMACISTS to refuse to fill prescriptions for HCQ in some areas (I'd wager you're familiar with that -- they did it here, too, for a week or two).
It was ridiculous to the point of absurdity. An extremely safe and ostensibly effective treatment, refused. And even today, if you look for old studies in Google you have to carefully search with precision. Same is true for some studies involving masks.
The following link is to an article that appeared early in 2020 regarding the ineffectiveness of face masks. Right after Fauci flip-flopped on masks, these poor guys were pressured to modify their already-sensible article, and they were reticent to do so. Over time, it has gone through multiple rounds of modification but the authors have stood fast on their refusal to avoid the false conclusion that masks "work".

Masks certainly did NOT help prevent the spread of Covid in any substantial way, period. There is zero credible evidence to support that claim. The N-95 mask may help, but can also be harmful. You're an engineer, you understand that the behavior of nanoscale particles just isn't always what we perceive it should be.
Oh, well. I didn't really mean to rehash all this, I just think these are really complicated issues, the significance of which have been corrupted by a weird mixture of politics, corrupt media, corrupt officials within government, and money. It will take years to sort it all out. I hope something will ultimately be learned by in-depth analysis. |
