ALYA Signs Distributor Contract with Smart Building Technologies Inc.
PALO ALTO, Calif.--Feb. 11, 1998--ALYA International Inc. announced today the signing of a distributor contract with Smart Building Technologies Inc. (''SBT'') of Richmond, British Columbia.
SBT specializes in providing ''one stop'' seamless integrated telecommunications and technology services such as Voice, Data, Internet, Access Control and Video Conferencing to commercial buildings. SBT will be licensed to market, sell and distribute ALYA's OPENcentrix security management system for buildings.
Working with PK Projects, a Vancouver developer, SBT has developed and implemented this concept for the Commerce Court International project in Richmond, British Columbia. This project is the first truly unique ''Smart Building'' in British Columbia. When completed in 1999, Commerce Court International will generate in excess of Cdn$1 million annually in rental revenue from the ''Smart Building'' services.
SBT intends to be the first company to provide all the elecommunications and technology services that an incoming tenant will require. ''It is our goal for a company who moves into one of our buildings to be 'business ready' the day they move in,'' said Kevin O'Shaughnessy, VP of marketing for SBT.
In announcing the signed distribution agreement, ALYA's VP of Sales and Marketing Douglas Corbett said ''ALYA is pleased to be part of Smart Building Technologies Inc.'s integrated services, and particularly to be able to provide ALYA's LonWorks compliant OPENcentrix security management system in one of the world's most technologically advanced buildings.''
ALYA now has three signed distributors representing order commitments for $1,500,000 for the current year. The company is developing relationships with more than 30 potential distributors including large integrators, utilities and building automation companies and expects a significant increase in the number of signed distributors in the coming months.
