We tried to watch the new network show "East New York" because one of the writers is a Law and Order alum. However, they exceeded the quota of US network cop show cliches in the first two minutes. Two beautiful detectives crashed into the secret computer center of the baddies, who had kidnapped some innocent genius and were about to explode a bomb somewhere. Beautiful young cops call up the CIA for help, because that always happens. Then the scene shifted to one of the cop's houses where there was much domestic drama about family members.

All in the first two minutes. What complete junk.

Ditto the season opening trilogy of Law and Order shows whose ending was comically bad in terms of writing. We still watch Law and Order and FBI out of an old loyalty to Dick Wolf and fairly decent plot development, but that could get shaky too.

Tonight we will look at "Alaska Daily" because Swank is in it, but I hold out little hope. The Hollywood TV industry is a dreck factory.

Thank goodness for Acorn and Britbox.
