No sure where you are located, but many workers and unions got screwed as a result of US free trade deals, such as NAFTA, where production was moved outside the USA, where costs were cheaper, such as salaries. Most US workers support made in USA. Richer folk tend not to care so much and just want the best price.

Balancing the Global demand and benefits of Free Trade with the demands of many workers is not always easy. Both sides get screwed in a way.
