Subject: LAMR

Lamar was downgraded by UBS Securities from a buy to a hold, based on valuation.

They claimed the run-up in the stock price was due to rumors that the stock may be bought out by Clear Channel Communications, and that Lamar's management spent the weekend with managers from CCU. (That's the problem with these stocks that aren't followed by too many traders; we don't hear the rumors.) UBS feels that even if there is a buyout, it may not be for much higher (if at all) than where the stock is now.

I still can't understand why anyone would want to buy a company with 90% debt.

The stock is still up today; it doesn't seem as though the downgrade has hurt it. I still haven't taken a position; I'm dazed and confused.
