OT (sort of)

> My take is they're good enough for Trent Reznor who is VERY knowledgeable about music tech, synths, boards etc. One of the first to use Protool files where he'd send one to his drummer who would add his stuff sent it to the guitarist, then to the bass, then back to Trent... layers and layer.

As I mentioned via PM, a relative of mine did that years ago with a gal he knew from college to collaborate on their work. They wrote lyrics for some songs that way and exchanged music files to add layers, where she added most of the vocals. He used Apple's Garageband for most of it, adding other hardware as needed for specific sounds.

While I guess I knew that was all possible to do many years ago, I'd never known anyone well enough before to get the particulars of the process.

I bought the CD version of Reznor's Ghosts I–IV years ago from his website years ago and liked a lot of it. The purchase included the digital versions of all of it in every format you could imagine at the time.

I think I just have the 320 MP3 versions since that's all I needed. :-)
