High gas prices in California are by design. You yourself confirmed it.

California is forcing everyone into EVs.

"Ha ha you suckas! I'm driving a Tesla! I don't have to worry about paying $7/gallon for gas!"

It wouldn't be so bad if California actually had a functional system of mass transit.
