I found a version I can access with Google translated subs, so I will download that and see if they are good enough for me to bear watching it. (The curse of being a lifelong writer and editor is that the errors and malaprops jump right out at me, ruining the viewing experience.)

There is a huge variation of French accents within Quebec, plus in other Francophone areas of Canada like New Brunswick. I can usually get something out of French dialogue, but I remember being in southern Prince Edward Island -- one of the areas from which many Acadiens migrated to what eventually became Louisiana after the area was conquered by the British -- and barely being able to understand a word.

Hint -- if you hear someone use the curse 'Tabernac!' or 'Sacre bleu' they're probably from Canada, not France. BTW, in their usual fashion the French can be really snobby towards Quebec and Quebecois accents.
