Anzio, the Abbey at Montecassino, the landings at Salerno, the fighting at the Gustav Line, the Burning Bridge, and many more similar places where blood was shed in unimaginable ways. Often mistakenly or for no good reason.
There should be a requirement that those making life and death decisions themselves face death in a real way before being allowed to make those kinds of decisions.
That will of course never happen.
We have no statesmen, only careerists and Biden10% idiots.
I suspect many influential mucky-mucks either suspect or know that our role in Ukraine is not just wrong, but but that it also carries unacceptable risks. But they are silent, the need to protect pensions, board seats, tenure, consultancies, fellowships, etc., being much more important than the selfless advocacy of the national interest. |
