Last night I sat down to watch the first episode of Michael Palin: Into Iraq, and next thing I knew, I had stayed up too late watching all three episodes. Palin has long been my favorite travel documentary host, but I had found his last few efforts a little disappointing. In this three-parter, during which he travels from the source of the Tigris River in Turkey to where it empties into the Indian Ocean in southern Iraq, we visit all sorts of interesting locations, modern and ancient, and meet many interesting people. Recommended.
