I'm trading the indexes short term and holding some equities that I feel confident have significant upside.

However, it seems to me that you place a lot of confidence in "sentiment" while there has been no market capitulation, just steady selling.

Do remember Fed Chair Volker? I believe that the Fed no longer gives a shit about the market and is now focused on protecting capital against inflation. Volker's tightening caused a crash in '87 and so far the SPX has fallen the same proportion. But the present Fed is nowhere near ending their rate hikes, so more selling is likely until the panic sets in and presents a good buying opportunity.

Good luck and keep some stops.
