Here's that study on the law of averages I mentioned... The Jelly Bean Experiment This is a true accounting of an experiment in guessing numbers... This guy had a giant jar filled with jelly beans... there were 3864 jelly beans in that jar... he took the jar to an office building where lots of people worked at the many offices in that building... he went to each office and asked each of the many employees in each office to guess how many jelly beans he had in that jar... He asked 300 people and no one guess correctly... some guesses are way over the top at 10,000 jelly beans, some were very low guesses at 150 jelly beans... he wrote down each guess... After leaving the building he added up all the guessed numbers and then divided that number by the number of people who guessed... The average of all the guesses were 3860 jelly beans, that was only 4 jelly beans off, that was .001 off the exact amount... While no single individual may guess correctly, the law of averages seems to work very well... Think about these markets, many hundreds of millions of trades are made all day and every trade looking for the best price for that trade... GZ
