As I've said many times, a question for anybody buying a stock, is and always will be, "How long are going to be in for?"

No serious investor should be able to answer that question. It involves the future and everything (company fundmentals yet, but share price especially) can change quickly in the future. So investors shouldn't commit to a timeframe to own a stock.

Lets say you buy a stock for $10 hoping it will get to $40 in three years, and two weeks later not much has changed but the stock is $40. You should perhaps sell, and your holding period was two weeks.
