They didn't say that. This is what happened.

OPEC said that they are cutting production in order to preserve long term investment viability (pretty much a BS, but ok). The administration then told the Saudis, in that case, don't worry about it b/c we will buy at *75* to refill SPR and that will prevent the prices from falling. To which the Saudis replied, not a chance - you just want to string us along till the elections.

The bottom line, it is now every man for himself.

Was there any news on oil today or just couldn't keep its weight?
