I would not have voted for the ban. When he said:

"Keep on buying dividend stocks in the range of 4%-6% at your own risk. They are the ones that will get hit hardest over the next 6 months."

that may have been disquieting to the board, but we all can benefit from counter-point arguments, even if we end up discounting them. Dividends are not as solid as we like to think. Over the decades I have suffered all too many dividend cuts, sometimes because I got sucked into a dividend trap, and sometimes because competent management prudently battens down the hatches in the face of economic strains in its business operations.

It is possible that many companies will suffer economic strains to their business operations in the next 12 months. So maybe Rarebird will end up proved correct.
