interesting commentary by les h:

"... The initial battle for Bucha was over by the 12th of March and there was a counterattack by Ukraine on the 16th. Otherwise, the city was controlled by the Russians.

The Russians were withdrawing from Kiev on the 29th as a goodwill gesture towards the ceasefire talks in Istanbul. There were attacked as they were withdrawing.

"On 29 March, Russian Deputy Defence Minister Alexander Fomin announced that the Russian military would reduce its activity near Kyiv and Chernihiv.[69] By 31 March, Ukrainian forces were moving into Bucha amid a general Russian withdrawal in the area, resulting in heavy fighting with local Russian troops"

Ukraine had snipers and spies coming into Bucha through the network of underground tunnels. It's not surprising that Ukrainian snipers would fire on civilians. They did the same thing at the 2014 Maidan protests in Kiev.

As I've stated, both sides have tortured and killed spies and informants. The military situation reports at the time stated that almost all of these soldiers were captured, tortured, and killed.

I've seen the video and satellite imagery documentation which are dated at the two times the Ukrainian forces entered Bucha during the counteroffensive and after the Russians had withdrawn. There were other photographs of the same locations that showed the streets had been clear during the Russian occupation. That suggests that these bodies were staged by Ukraine.

Russia never wanted the war. There is no reason for the war if Ukraine abided by the Minsk treaty. The two provinces would have semi-autonomy and their rights would be guaranteed. The Nazi paramilitaries would be disbanded. Ukraine would have reversed the buildup of troops and heavy weapons at the contact line. Ukraine would build up military facilities for NATO. Ukraine would be responsible for reconstruction of the Donbass.

The only reason they went in is because Ukraine was starting the war on the Donbass on February 14 with artillery fire. Ukraine was presented with a ceasefire agreement on the 21st by France and Germany. Rejection of the demand to cease the war resulted in the two breakaway provinces declaring their independence the same day which was immediately followed by formal recognition by Russia. Russia invaded on the 24h to protect the ethnic Russian population of the Donbass after declaration of the Special Military Operation citing UN Article 51 and the principles of the Minsk agreement to which they were a guarantors.

Zelensky had stated that the price for entry into NATO would be to start a war with Russia. There were considerable financial gains to be made from military aid by establishing companies to handle the distribution of weapons and materials in addition to the redirection of arms to the black market..."
