I've seen knockoffs of things like outboard engines. I've heard stories that the original manufacturer's casting marks have been duplicated - they didn't bother to grind them off.

Probably happens on chip level as well, but on the board level - well, I've also heard stories of modems being added. Graduating from theft to spying.

Seems like sanctions are close to theft. I prefer tariffs. And outsmarting the other guys...
