"Some of these super long term charts are mind boggling... stuff like the dow/crb historically and stock price/book historically...
Anyway.. Great use of your time if wanna indulge .. super brilliant dude no doubt & shows allot of humility for being painfully early on some calls"

"As R2CG noted some of these charts are truly mind boggling in the context of historical valuations of financial assets.

This discussion piggybacks John Hussman's discussion that I mentioned Thursday ( Estimating Downside Market Risk | ZeroHedge) about the absolutely absurd valuations of the 2021-22 top e.g. Prechter's 7 X book value chart way beyond any previous bull market tops - ever. Then there's his range chart with the box of previous bull/bear market ranges. My-oh-my.

Both Hussman and Prechter's discussions point to the possibility that this is truly a Supercycle Wave 5 top - - - though I hope (along with PL) that it's only a Supercycle 3 top. Regardless, it's a very big deal top - a multi-generational top.

To appreciate the possibility of either, check out chart #13 ( spx vlt sc.png (640×473) (googleusercontent.com) of PL's essay Pretzel Logic's Market Charts and Analysis: Are Stocks Headed Toward a Generational Bear Market? And a Look at Real Estate (pretzelcharts.com)

Clearly, we have a long way to go in both time and price just to "revert back to the mean".
