I have always viewed the Bible as an enlightened novel. In the end, we all have our personal relationships with G-d and that is something we should trust, rather than relying on someone else's revelation or interpretation of the Truth, in terms of what G-d said or revealed (Logos) to them ( the Disciples)

I am not a fatalist, but believe in free will. You choose who you want to be.

G-d does not choose elected leaders, people do. If G-d had chosen Adolph Hitler to be the leader of Germany, he would have been the greatest son of a bitch that ever lived. Test or no Test, I don't subscribe to that view for one second. It is dangerous to shed all personal responsibility and place it on the back of G-d.
