A noble sentiment, but every plane or other vehicle that you chose not to take has made that voyage anyway and impacted the environment accordingly. Each of us is only a gnat fart in a whirlwind in the end. I just moved to a dense, walkable area and gave up commuting by car this past summer in favor of walking to a subway (so much better for the soul). I will get on the occasional plane to enrich my life otherwise. Luckily, I don't like flying that much, and my life's ambition is never to set foot on a cruise ship. So I think I am morally OK with the universe. If not, just another gnat fart anyway.
